Sharon-rose Gargula has been a Delaware school nurse for the past 19 years at Stanton Middle school in the Red Clay Consolidated School District. Stanton Middle school has an average student population of 630 students with over 80% of the student population qualifying for free meals. In 2012 as part of a school wide initiative Ms. Gargula and the other members of the student support services team started educating the teaching staff on how to assist students to learn resiliency, compassion and become academically successful.

Ms Gargula earned her MSN Nursing leadership in from Wilmington University in 2010. She earned her BSN from Wilmington College in 1999 and ADN from Delaware Technical Community College in 1985. Ms Gargula has been nationally certified since 1999. Ms. Gargula became a Johnson & Johnson Fellow in 2012 when she and four other Red Clay school nurses teamed up to bring prescription drug abuse awareness to the public and private schools in the state of Delaware. In 2014 she was award the Golden Psi Award for her participation with the educating of faculty members at Stanton Middle School. The American Psychological Association awards the Golden Psi Award to schools that demonstrate psychologically based practices that contribute to positive educational outcomes.

Ms Gargula is the current lead school nurse mentor for her district as well as the Delaware School Nurses Association immediate past president.
