The School Nurse Update for Diabetes in Children
is a free educational activity designed to provide Delaware school nurses with information and resources that will enable him or her to better manage a student with diabetes. This one-hour online educational activity will review guidelines related to diabetes and diabetes management in schools, including emergency planning
and response. It will also provide school nurses with resources to help students and their families prevent or delay the onset of diabetes. The education will aid
school nurses in managing:
• Students diagnosed with type 1 diabetes
• Students newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
• Students who have significant risk factors for developing the disease
