Action Requested: Support HB 425 – Equity for Nationally Certified School Nurses

Dear Delaware School Nurses,

The Delaware School Nurse Association is excited to share that HB 425 has been introduced by Representative Melissa Minor-Brown and Senator Marie Pinkney. This legislation would increase the salary supplement for nationally certified school nurses and school counselors from 6% to 12%, creating greater equity with other nationally certified educational professionals.

This bill recognizes the advanced education, professional expertise, continuing education, and dedication required to maintain National Certification as a School Nurse (NCSN). Most importantly, it acknowledges the critical role school nurses play in protecting the health, safety, and academic success of Delaware students every day.

We need your support!

Please contact your local legislators and respectfully ask them to support HB 425. Personal stories and examples of the impact school nurses make in your schools and communities are especially powerful.
