Edith P. Vincent Scholarship Award
Delaware School Nurse Association

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to DSNA members.
Purpose: The purpose of this award is to support and assist Delaware School Nurses in the pursuit of furthering their education.
Eligibility: All current Delaware School Nurse Association members enrolled in a college course to further their education are eligible to apply.
Application Process: Each December, school nurses are notified of the call for applications for this scholarship. Applications must be completed and submitted to one of the committee members no later than December 31 of each year.
Committee: The chairperson of the scholarship committee is appointed by the president of the Delaware School Nurse Association. The committee will be comprised of no less than 3 additional members, one from each county, to be selected by the committee chairperson.
Selection Process: Each committee member will receive a copy of each application. After reviewing the applications, the committee members will choose those to receive scholarship monies. The Executive Board of the DSNA must approve the list of winners prior to awards being distributed.
For the purposes of selecting award recipients, priority is given to the following applicants:
- Those seeking degrees in nursing.
- Those who have a specified financial need (i.e., other family members in college, single parents)
- Those who have not received other scholarship monies or tuition reimbursement.
- Those who have not previously received this scholarship award.
Distribution of Scholarship Monies: Each scholarship winner will present a copy of satisfactory grades and a receipt for tuition payment to the Scholarship Committee chairperson. Upon receipt of these requirements, the chairperson will advise the DSNA treasurer to disburse the monies directly to the award recipient. Download an application form.
